Analyzing the Relationship Between Cloud-Native Architectural Patterns and Software Quality in AI-Assisted Development

Gimres, G.D.S.R.; Dilshi Divya, K. (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

Modern software systems are increasingly built as cloud-native, distributed applications, and an increasing share of their source code is now produced with the assistance of large language model (LLM) based coding tools. ...
Bridging Monitoring and Mindset: A Retrieval- Augmented LLM Chatbot Framework for Real- Time Environmental Education

Perera, B.U.I; Epakanda, J.K.; Aratthanage, K.D.B. (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

Plastic pollution is a serious problem for our environment, and many public awareness campaigns are not able to change people's daily habits in a lasting way. At the same time, new Artificial Intelligence (AI) and smart ...
A GAN-Based Inpainting Framework for Smoke Removal in Critical Safety Imagery

Atthanayake, Isuru; Najmudeen, Siyad (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

Smoke generated during fire and other critical incidents severely degrades the visual quality of captured imagery, hindering safety monitoring, evacuation planning, and firefighting decision-making. Existing smoke- and ...
An AI-Assisted Conceptual Framework for Personalized Nutrition Recommendation Based on Oral Mucositis Severity in Head and Neck Cancer Patients

Niluminda, P.A.H.; Ranasinghe, D.D.M. (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

Oral mucositis often occurs in head and neck cancer (HNC) patients during treatment and can make eating difficult because of pain and swallowing problems. A recent meta-analysis reported oral mucositis in approximately ...
MyAiPlate: A Mobile Application for Personalized Nutrition Using YOLOv8 Food Recognition and a Hybrid LSTM-DQN Model for Real-Time Meal Plan Adaptation

Zaina, M.Z.; Nusri, M.A.A.; Thafani, M.N.; Sharafa, H.M.F.; Nasheeth, M.B.N.M. (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

Keeping a balanced and individualized diet plays an important role in the prevention of chronic diseases as well as in maintaining optimal wellness. The accurate monitoring of daily calorie consumption and abiding by ...
A Review of Flood Hazard Assessment and Risk Zone Identification Using Conventional Physical Models and Machine Learning Algorithms: A Study of the Kalu River Basin

Kisho Raj, Uthayashankar; Iresh, Shahika; Athapattu, Bandunee (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

The Kalu River Basin in southwestern Sri Lanka has experienced significant flooding, primarily from monsoonal and cyclonic rainfall. Steep topography, rapid land-use changes, and climate change exacerbate flood risk. ...
INTEGRATING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND SATELLITE TELEMETRY INTO COASTAL CONSERVATION AND MARINE POLLUTION LEGISLATION: A FEASIBLE LEGISLATIVE MODEL FOR SRI LANKA

De. Zoysa, Sasith (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

The vulnerability of island nations to catastrophic marine pollution and severe coastal degradation - exemplified by the MV X-Press Pearl disaster in Sri Lankan waters - reveals fundamental structural limitations in ...
Graph-Theoretic Diffusion Modelling of Soil Organic Carbon Propagation in Paddy-Field Networks

Subasinghe, H.P.I.; Dheerasekara, W.M.S.; Caldera, H.M.M. (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

Estimating field-scale indigenous nitrogen supply from soil organic carbon (SOC) requires propagating sparse point observations across a spatially connected landscape. This paper formalises that propagation as a diffusion ...
Sri Lankan Tamil Sign Language Recognition Using Machine Learning and Computer Vision: A Systematic Literature Review

Kanesanathan, Ealisai; Kirushika, J. (The Open University of Sri Lanka, 2026)

Sign language recognition has become an important research area in assistive technology, with machine learning and computer vision providing opportunities to support communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing people ...
